2. Santa Monica Pier
Jutting off into the Pacific Ocean in Los Angeles, the Santa Monica Pier is another one of the most famous landmarks in the state of California. Built in 1909, this Los Angeles attraction brings every visitor nostalgia for the good ol’ days.
The Santa Monica Pier has endless entertainment options like the small amusement park that features thrilling rides such as the West Coaster roller coaster and the Pacific Wheel.
Outside of the amusement park, the Santa Monica Pier is stocked full of concession stands and restaurants selling everything from Japanese-style hot dogs to fresh and hot churros. You’ll even find the Santa Monica Looff Hippodrome, a dedicated National Historic Landmark since 1987.
